Can I schedule a letter for later?
Yes. Free includes 1 scheduled letter up to 30 days ahead. Paid plans unlock longer horizons and rituals such as time capsules.
Does The Old Letters work on phones and tablets?
Yes. It works in a modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, and can be installed as a PWA.
Does the recipient need an account?
Yes. A free account securely connects the letter to the right person, lets them open the envelope and supports continued private correspondence.
Is the letter included in the email?
No. The email only says that an invitation or letter is waiting. The letter is available only after signing in to The Old Letters.
Does an invitation create a public profile?
No. The Old Letters has no public profile directory or feed. Invitation links contain no letter content and are not indexed.
What exactly is encrypted?
Letter content and supported attachments are encrypted on the device before upload. The server stores encrypted envelopes and account or delivery metadata such as sender, recipient and time.
What can the server see?
The server sees account data, permissions, technical delivery metadata and encrypted envelopes. It does not receive readable letter content or the device private key.
What is included in the Free plan?
Free includes unlimited ordinary letters, 3 active correspondences, 1 attachment up to 10 MB per letter, 100 MB of attachment storage, 5 basic stationery designs, the classic seal and 1 scheduled ordinary letter up to 30 days ahead. No card is required.

What happens to letters after cancellation?
Paid features remain active until the end of the billed period, then the account moves to Free. Received letters remain accessible; Free limits apply to future use and newly created resources.
Are taxes included?
The tax treatment is shown for the selected currency. The final amount and any applicable tax are confirmed before payment.
Does one Duo subscription cover both people?
Yes. One person pays for Duo and the plan covers both connected accounts. The other person does not buy a separate subscription.
Who is the Family plan for?
Family covers up to 6 adult family members. Each person uses their own account and their own encryption keys.
What happens if I forget my password?
You can reset the password through email. Your saved recovery code is required to unlock existing encrypted correspondence on a new device.
Can I download my letters?
Yes. Eligible plans let you select specific letters and export a PDF with their stationery, ink colour, signature and seal.
How do I delete my account?
You can permanently delete the account in settings. Export any letters you want to keep outside the service first.
What is the minimum age for using The Old Letters?
The Old Letters is currently available only to adults aged 18 or over.
How do I report abuse?
Use the protected Report abuse form. Do not include private letter content; the requested identifiers and an incident description are enough.
